A two-day interactive course conducted in-person or virtually whatever works best for your team
To qualify for the CPDHTS Exam and earn your certification, it is recommended you meet one of the following criteria:
Option 1:
- Hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, and
- Have five years of experience in information and management systems*,including three years in a healthcare setting.
Option 2:
- Hold a post graduate degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and
- Have three years of experience in information and management systems*,including two years in a healthcare setting.
Option 3:
- Have at least 10 years of experience in information and management systems*, including eight years in a healthcare setting.
Additional Information
- Information and management systems experience includes roles in:
  - Systems analysis, design, selection, implementation, support and maintenance
  - Testing and evaluation
  - Privacy and security
  - Information systems or clinical informatics
  - Management engineering
- Healthcare settings include organisations such as:

The CPDHTS Self-Assessment Exam is a 50-question online practice test that mirrors the certification exam's structure and content areas. This isn’t included in the certification cost and can be purchased directly from HIMSS.

  - Aligns with the CPDHTS certification exam in content and format (though shorter in length and not predictive of exam performance).
  - Provides detailed feedback on incorrect responses for targeted study.

Format: A two-hour exam with 100 multiple-choice questions

- Location: Administered remotely via a secure, proctored internet-based platform.
- Time: You have up to 90 days following the course to book your exam.
Steps to take the exam:
1. Apply and receive your eligibility ID number.
2. Schedule your exam through the online portal.
Results: Candidates receive their results immediately upon completing the test.
